Good evening everyone. Today went pretty well. I met up with my stephen minister, as I do now every other week. Then came home to grab lex and head to soccer practice. Lex came down and was like "Daddy? I can't find my socks, shinguards, or shoes." I was like "Well then you have a problem. You need to find them."
About 2 minutes after practice was already going, Lex came down and had her shoes, shinguards, and socks. I said "Put them on in the truck. Lets go." When we got there, the girls were doing passing and shooting drills. After just a little while, it was time to scrimage again. Once again, me and the coach against the 8 girls. I can tell that with it having been a few days of having not exercised, I was more winded than I was last week. So, after we got home from soccer practice, Erin and Zoe were still down for naps, and I went to put hercules on for lex and I, and the batteries in both the remotes were both dead. I thought "crap, do we have any other devices that use AA batteries that I can steal the batteries from for one of our remotes?" Then I remembered, I had a $5.00 in my id holder. I was like "Lex, change out of your soccer gear and get normal tennis shoes on, and that I was headed to Jewel to see if I could get some cheap batteries.
On the way to jewl, we jogged most of the way. I would run and pass her, her yelling "HEY! NO FAIR!" and then she would pass me. On the way back, we ran till we got onto 3rd st coming up to the house, and I walked half the way. Lex was like "I'm going to get to the house sooner!" She ran till she was a block and a half ahead of me, and then was walking. I waited till she wasn't paying attention and then I sprinted. She glanced over her shoulder just in time to see me fly by her. She was like "NO!" And ran to try to catch up with me. It was me first running up our front porch steps, her right behind me. I touched the door a second before she did. She was like "AH MAN!" I was like "I WON!" and then collapsed down on the steps sitting down trying to catch my breath. Inside I could hear her breathing really hard, and I said "Slow your breathing Lex." She was like "Huh?" I was like "The faster you breath, the worse it is. Take a breath, hold it for a second or two, then breath out. Do it like that and you will catch your breath."
Being winded makes me worry about the testing for the deputy sheriffs position. Only worry because of hating how it feels to be winded from running. That makes me not really enjoy running in general. But I guess I just need to try to do it more, because hopefully it will get easier the more I do it. So I think I will call that it for tonight. I will write more for you all tomorrow.
Thanks for being here.
