Day 73

Good day everyone. You ever have one of those moments where you were trying to do something, thinking that you were making it better, then something got broken and you were like "DANGIT!" Well I did today. I went back to the mechanic that installed my new gas tank because I'm not getting enough fuel from the tank delivered to my engine. I'm scheduled to see him monday morning at 10 AM to get the air conditioning charged, but money wise I'm not sure if i will get it done. I want to have it charged, but at the same time it's $140.00 that I really don't want to spend. Rather, its $140.00 that would be of better use being applied to a bill or whatever. It's reality. It sucks, but it is reality.

On my way back home, I thought about how the mechanic told me that if I put some kind of lubricating spray on the window track in my truck, that my windows will roll up and down easier. My drivers side has been good, but my passenger side has issues. If you roll the window down, you have to use your hand to help it back up. So I went to auto zone and bought a liquid wrench lubricant. I went home and sprayed it in the window tracks of both windows. The drivers side window went even more smoothly. The passenger side went up and down with ease, but the problem was when I let it go all the way down. Then it didn't want to come back up until I managed to get it up a few inches.

Well I let it go all the way down once, and managed to work it back up. Then I sprayed some more and let it go all the way down again. This time I was trying to get it to come back up, but could only get a small grip on the very edge. Suddenly the entire window burst into a million little pieces. I was like "SON OF A ****!" I even stood there in shock looking at the many pieces of broken glass wondering how I had screwed up. Thinking to myself "Damnit. Damnit. Damnit. I should have just dropped the truck off at Erin's work so she would have it, I then should have walked home and crashed, but nooooooooooooooooooooooo. I had to fix the damn window, which is now no longer ATALL!" Yes I know my intention was good, to make it work more efficiently, but hey, it backfired.

Oh well, I guess it's the thought that counts eh? right. yeah. Course. So anyway, I went to meet erin at work for lunch, but it was one of the days when she was there till 2 or later. She's always scheduled till 2, but they like to send her home early a lot. It seems the days I try to meet her for lunch, they keep her there late, so then I'm sitting there for a while with mixed feelings. 1 feeling is happy because she is working the full shift, full pay, etc. the other feeling is bordom because here i am taking a lot more time to eat than I normally would, just because I'm trying to wait. So today at 2, I figured she was still going to be a little while, and so I told her boss to let her know I was going to go pick Zoe up from daycare and come right back. On my way there, I stopped at a place called Bob's Auto Shop. I talked to him earlier about whether or not he had any used windows from older ford vehicles. Told him I was looking for one for a 1993 ford f250 and he said he had one.

Backtracking a bit, before I called Bob, I called these places like safelite, and other glass repair and replacement companies. They all quoted me $205.00 to replace the glass. I asked how much the glass was and that I would try to install it myself. They said "The installation is only $30.00 . The rest of the cost is the new glass." I was like "SHIT!" So then I called bob.

So moving on. Bob said he had one from a 1989 Ford F150 passenger side door. I asked how much and he told me $40.00. I told him I would be down there shortly to pick it up. So on the way to pick up Zoe, I stopped by, paid the man and picked up the glass. Maybe it's the worry wort in me because I looked at the glass and said "will that fit? It looks too big." He was like "It will. It came out of a 1999 ford f150 and will fit in the other models as well." So i paid him and picked it up, sticking it in the back seat.

I asked the place charging $205 if they would put it in for me if I had the glass myself and they said because of warranty they couldnt. Heh. I don't freaking care about window warranty! I just wanted it installed! GEESH! Wasn't the news I was hoping for. I was hoping I'd buy the new window for $40.00, take it over to this place and pay $25.00 to have it installed. Easy peasy, but it turned out not to be that way.

Then to top that all off! Mother nature today decided it was monsoon day! There have already been a few storms, and not just average rain storms. we're talking heavy rains, lightning, thunder, high winds, the works! So naturally, the passenger seat has gotten a little wet.

So in closing, the plan some time tomorrow is, one way or another, getting that window installed! I hate the insecurity of having a window missing. Too many things can happen. Stuff stolen, water in the truck, etc. Still not much of a word about Erin's Escape, but I believe the plan is for him to try to get the transmission rebuilt by next friday. I guess Erin and her mom believe it will be the best for us to be using the escape and not the truck when we go to bring Lex back home. They under estimate the reliability and dependability of the big old ford. ;) jk. So anyway I will call that it for tonight. I will write more for you all tomorrow.

Thanks for being here.
