Good evening everybody. I believe we are now on day 7. I regret that today I do not have any pictures to post, but that is ok. I received a call from my employer today. Between me and the other guard, I write up schedules for the two of us for the next 4 weeks. Well when my boss called, he gave me 3 or 4 different dates that he wants me to include on the next round of 4 week schedule I make up. The earliest one isn't until the end of May so we have a while. Well apparently on these dates, there will be no maintenance working and so myself and the other guard will both be working, one of us as a fill-in maintenance guy. When we did this before, the fill-in maintenance person really didn't end up doing any maintenance. If anything goes down, we call a maintenance guy that should be on call just in case. Usually the night goes pretty smoothly. If its something we can handle, such as a leak, we put buckets under it and then notify maintenance when they come in at 7 AM.
Well, if someone calls us through out the night with a problem that we are unable to fix, such as tv not working or something, we let the staff calling know that maintenance will be on duty in the morning and we will make sure they fix it.
This afternoon Ally called from school. She was supposed to take the bus home right after school and not wait for after school care because today was the beginning of soccer. She had practice today at 4:30, and when she called at 3:45 and wondered why we hadn't picked her up. We were like "Hon? You were supposed to ride the bus home, remember?" She was like "oh." So I went and picked her up. Brought her home, she got ready for soccer practice. As we were headed out the door, Zoe, wearing a long shirt and a diaper *she had ditched her pants* followed us to the door so I went ahead and swooped her up, putting her in the truck with us. Erin came out wondering what I was doing and I was like "Well, she followed us out and I figured might as well let her go too."
I had trouble finding the soccer fields but at least now I know where they are at. Erin called after I finally made it there and said she was going to come out too. The practice went well. I have not done anything in Soccer for aboout probably 4 years, and it is nice to start getting back there in some way. Zoe got done and ran around wanting to kick a ball too. It was fun just trying to keep her off the field. After a while, I took her to the field next door and let her kick around. She will be a big soccer player when she gets older. Erin mentioned something about one of the people trying to coach them possibly needing an assistant coach like me because of my knowledge of the sport and their lack of? I'm not sure. I think I would be willing to but being me, I don't see myself coming to them and offering. I think if they asked me I would. So, I'm going to call that it for tonight.
I'm at a loss for what the lesson for today could be. For lack of a better one, the lesson today can be: make sure to enjoy your days off. :) If you can think of a better one, by all means. Other than that, I would say there is no lesson for today ;) Will write again for you tomorrow.
Thanks for being here.
