Hello all. Yesterday, with work, and making sure to complete stuff for school, I ended up getting really busy and wasn't able to get online to post in the blog. Heck, I would have come online at one point to make sure I had posted what I needed to post but last night I was called to the ER at around 10:30 pm to sit with a patient in the room. It wasn't until close to 3AM that they were picked up by an ambulance to be transferred to another hospital. I was in the process of trying to get something to eat before I got called. Thank God for cell phones though. I passed the time while sitting there by browsing facebook on my phone and playing games. I wished I had brought my book in because I would have probably ended up finishing it while sitting there. Close to 5 hours. At 3, I left the ER, took my time eating dinner finally, then went down to the office and read for about 40 minutes. I figured, yes I had been sitting still for 5 hours, but at the same time, it wasn't a "break". I had a head ache, and needed to do something to relax, and sitting down there and reading for a little while usually does it.
So today is our 5th day of class. The funny thing is this. One of my instructors posted the daily questions for monday through friday on the first day of class. We have to post our answers on each day and then respond to 2 or 3 of our class mates posts (per day). A lot of my class mates I've noticed went on there monday and tuesday and posted their answers and responses for the entire week. I finally posted a question to both my instructors, asking how it works, if we can post everything early and still get the same credit for it, or if we need to respond to 2 or 3 people for 4 individual days. They said it's ok to work ahead, but save them as drafts and then post them on the required day and then respond to your class mates posts on those days in order to get credit. That's what I thought, but of course, seeing a dozen or more students posting days early made me think "ok, their posting on day 5 when it's only day 3. Can we do that or will it not count?"
So tonight at work, I will work my normal 12 hour shift. Tonight at midnight, the guard who will be joining me over here in place of Randy will be coming in for a few hours so I can give him a refresher. Then tomorrow I come in from 6PM till midnight, and he comes in at midnight till 6. Then he is the one on duty till Wednesday morning, then I come in that evening. So our schedules are like this. I come in and work Wednesday night, thursday night, and friday night, then I work 6PM to midnight on Saturday and then he comes in and he's on duty then. It'll be nice to have official work days and days off again. Plus, since he sounds like he was ok with this idea for the schedule, it will allow Erin and I and the girls to start trying to go to church again. We havent been in about 6 weeks because I've been working most of the time, including till 6 am on sunday morning.
So with that, I think I will call that it tonight. I will write more for you all tomorrow.
Thanks for being here.
