Shout out from Florida!

Hey Yall! Sorry I didn't make it on last night. By the time I got parked, showered, and back in the truck, I was on fumes at that point. So tonight, I wanted to make it up to you all by doing what I said I would do the other day, posting from Florida. But wait! There's more! As you see on this post, I took a few pics from here at the truck stop I'm parked at. Been a busy few days! after running the load from Kansas to the boarder of Arkansas and Tennessee, I ran my next load for Starbucks down here to Florida. Then a load from Florida to South Carolina, then a load from South Carolina to Tennessee, delivered that one last night, and then I'm on another Starbucks run to Florida.

The plans changed though, because initially my load today was a load from Tennessee to Kansas. I had planned to pick that up this morning, and get a majority of the way to the customer tonight, parking at Petro in Oak Grove, Missouri. That's like 30 minutes from where the wife and girls are at, visiting her parents for 4-5 days. I reached out to the wife and told her that I'd be coming to Kansas, and parking at Petro in Missouri, and that if she wanted to stop on her way back towards home, that we could do the breakfast buffet. She was like "sure." So much excitement I know. ;)

Unfortunately, as I was omw out of Florida with my beer load, I got a message "load number _____ has cancelled." I didn't know which load it was because I had a few assigned. So when I had a chance I logged on to look and saw it was the one to Kansas. I looked at the board and there was still a high dollar load to Florida for Saturday, so I went ahead and booked that. It's been months since I last did 2 runs to Florida almost back to back. I wish it was in the same week cuz then my revenue would be awesome. But my first one was Wednesday delivering Thursday, and this one delivers tomorrow which falls on the new pay week.) So the way I figured it, and the reason I jumped at the load, was that I'm starting the new week off strong.

So tomorrow I go 90 miles to deliver this load, then deadhead up to Jacksonville to pick up beer to go to South Carolina again. And then the plan is to hopefully catch a load back to Tennessee to take a day off and reset my hours. At this time tho, there's no loads listed yet out of South Carolina. I don't want to deadhead back, but we will definitely see what happens. Anyway, omw down here this time, my load was ready last night so basically when I parked at the yard, I had already delivered and grabbed my next load. All I had to do was get up this morning, do my pre-trip and take off. Tried to get up just before 6 but ended up not taking off till like 7:50.

Would have made better time but today people were struggling to drive. I say that because there were multiple car accidents, some of them within a couple miles of the previous ones, all rear endings. I'm like "holy crap! people cant drive today!" So of course, that meant traffic stopping for 30 minutes up to an hour or so. When I got here to Petro, it was like, 8PM. 2/3 of the parking spaces were still open, which is always good. Got parked pretty close to the building. Not the front row unfortunately, but still pretty close.

So, in closing, I wanted to add some value for you all tonight. Something that I picked up from a video I watched earlier. Here goes! Don't go around saying you are broke! Even if you have no money, as long as you have courage, as long as you refuse to quit no matter what people around you try to tell you, YOU AREN'T BROKE! Don't give up! Don't let ANYONE tell you that you can't do what you want to do! Don't let anyone tell you that you can't have what you want! I don't care who it is! Whether it's your mom, your sister, or even your spouse! If you want it, don't let anyone stop you!

The reason I say that is 1) to provide value to you. and 2) because I'm pursuing my dreams as an Entrepreneur, and working on being able to hang up my keys and come home. I have people that are close to me that have actually told me I shouldn't do it, and that if I want to come home, just go apply for a local job. The problem for me with that is, even if I got a decent paying local job, the money would never be enough. My wife and I would still always be really tight on money, and would fight a lot like we do right now. I don't want that for us. In fact! I want SO MUCH MORE! So, I refuse to give up. The way I am looking at it is like this. I WILL GET THERE! No matter how much work I have to do, how long I have to stay out here in the truck while working on my business part time during whatever free time I have (which is never that much). No matter if I'm always the only one that seems to believe that I can! You are all that matters! Even if everyone else says it can't be done, if you think it can? DO IT! Don't give up and then years down the line wonder "what if?"

I've actually already done the "what if" stuff quite a bit in my life. I've wondered if I had only done ______, if I'd be in a better place by now. You just never know! Maybe I would be, maybe I wouldn't be.

But I need to not focus on the past. As Tony Robins says. You can't drive in to the future, if you're looking in the rear view mirror that is the past. If you try driving while looking in the rear view mirror, you'll crash!
